Sebastian Joseph is an Indian writer and journalist from Kerala. He was the first journalist who exposed the cause of unwed tribal mothers in Wayanad. Also he exposed the genetic disease called sickle cell anaemia among the tribals in Wayanad.He was the first Malayalam journalist who introduced the great Indian social workerDayabai (Mercy Mathew) to the world. His reports nipped the bud of the leftistprotest against self financing educational institutions in the state of Kerala. He wonseveral state and national awards. He wrote several books especially about the leftextremist agitations in Kerala. His book on Emergencey in India is a best seller.
